The John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science is one of Boston’s three exam schools. Exam schools require that all students take the Independent Schools Entrance Exam (ISEE) before they are accepted. Q. What is the application process for the school?
A. The application process for the exam schools includes test scores from the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE), Boston residency, and student grade information.
Q. How do I sign my child up to take the exam?
A. Please visit the Boston Public Schools Exam School page for complete and official information. Information packets will be available at ALL Boston Public School middle schools in mid-September each year. Testing locations and times will be included in the information packet.
Q. What is the name of the entrance test? When is the test date?
A. The Independent Schools Entrance Exam (ISEE) will be held on a Saturday in November. Eligible students must be enrolled in grades 6, 8, or 9. Check the Boston Public Schools website for exam information by clicking here.
Q. Can my student have a tour of the O’Bryant school?
A: Of course! We will have an Invited Students Information Session on Wednesday, April 5th, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm in the O'Bryant auditorium. We will also have one tour a month for the remainder of the school year. All tours are at 8:30am. The dates are as follows: February 27th, March 30th, April 13th, May 25th, and June 15th. Q. Can my student complete a shadow day?
A. Yes! If you have been invited to the O'Bryant school for Fall 2017, you can complete a shadow day. Please fill out the Shadow Day Request Form.
