Program description: The program meets two days per week from 6 - 8:00 pm at the Madison / O'Bryant HS track. It begins June 16th and ends August 13th. The focus of this program is to work on improving your form through drills. We spend 30 minutes on dynamic flexibility and speed drills. We then transitions to agility and plyometric drills using banana hurdles and acceleration ladders on Mondays and resistance training with harnesses and parachutes on Wednesdays. We finish up with various types of circuit training to increase muscular strength and endurance. By improving your form, technique and endurance we can and will improve your speed.

Adrienne Thornton, a senior at O'Bryant High School in Roxbury, MA, is USA Track & Field - New England's Athlete of the Month for January 2012. On January 14 at the East Coast Championship meet in Providence, Adrienne broke the Massachusetts state record in the girls 20 pound weight throw with a toss of 51' 8 3/4", the leading indoor throw in the nation at that point in the season. It was the second time this indoor season she has broken the state record in the event. Thornton also is ranked top 5 in Massachusetts in the shot put and is a capable sprinter and hurdler.
